Next time you are in Chicago it's worth your time to check out Asrai Garden in the Bucktown area. The owner Elizabeth, who I met through Skin & Bones designer Jasmin, was our very first retailer.

This was a big deal for us, shipping to a brick and mortar retailer was kinda scary. What if people don't like it? What if it doesn't sell? Before Asrai all our customers were friends, family and fans buying from our website. We shipped the order April 2010 and I crossed my fingers.

A few weeks later Elizabeth emailed and needed to reorder, sold out! I started crying on the spot. I was so excited and so grateful people loved Skin & Bones as much as we did.

The Asrai boutique is gorgeous and Elizabeth is the epitome of badass. When you visit the boutique you are greeted by her talented staff and you can't miss Elizabeth, visit and you will discover an artist with intoxicating passion for life. Her curating is absolutely amazing and it's like a little treasure hunt in the store - everywhere you look you find something you swear was just not there a minute ago.

Elizabeth and her staff of designers craft extraordinary arrangements for any occasion or to complement any environment. Last time I was there she was making an arrangement out of radishes, it was uniquely beautiful.

Why You Should Put Jojoba Oil On Your Face

If you are having skin problems leave out your other products and put jojoba on your face and body - just for a day or two.

You can't put too much on and it absorbs quickly and will not stain your sheets or clothing. Once I started using jojoba it was the first time in my life I received compliments on my skin - I was 37. I know what you are thinking, that putting jojoba "oil" on your face will cause acne. Since I have started jojoba oil I haven't had a zit in three years.

Bad past experiences with skin care have made all of us paranoid about what we put on our faces. When you really think about it - have you ever put an organic oil on your face? More than likely what caused your bad experience was lotion. Lotion can be bad - synthetics, water and alcohol being the main ingredients. Water and alcohol evaporate immediately and its only purpose is to make the jar/bottle look fuller - what's left left are harmful chemicals. Worse than that, lotion is specifically made so it needs to be reapplied all day.

Not to knock lotions - but if you are really looking to clear up skin ailments and even out skin tone - jojoba oil is the answer. Especially if you are looking to eliminate chemicals from your regimen.

Jojoba (pronounced ho-HO-ba) is a botanical extract of the seed of the jojoba tree (Simmondsia chinenis). Jojoba isn't actually an oil, but rather a wax ester. Out of all of the compounds in nature, the jojoba wax ester is the most similar to human skin oil (sebum). It is theorized that applying jojoba to the skin can "trick" the skin into thinking it is producing enough oil, thus balancing oil production. Additionally, jojoba oil is non-comedogenic so it is safe for all skin types - especially sensitive skin.

Bring your own headphones – Don’t rely on the airline’s headphones which mess up your hair and rarely ever fit your head. Plus, who wants to waste a couple dollars on a pair of crappy headphones that you’ll never use again? Bring noise canceling headphones {Bose makes an excellent set that are well worth their hefty price tag} and not only will you be able to hear the movies better, but you’ll also drown out the crying baby in the seat behind you, the constant dinging for the flight attendant’s attention from the over-anxious grandma across the aisle, and the incessant chatter of the new BFF teens in the two seats to your left.

Bring a Snack – Unless you’re flying Virgin America, the food offered on airlines isn’t what we would call desirable. Check Airline Meals before you fly to find out what’s offered on your flight and if it’s necessary to pack your own meal (which it usually is).

Entertainment – Bring gossip magazines, your ipod, a book & a book light and you’ll never run out of things to do. If you have an iphone, check out AppAdvice to find the latest and greatest in the app world.

Sleep Easy – Ear plugs and a neck pillow are a necessity for dozing. The BEST neck pillow we’ve found to date is Brookstone’s n•a•p® Travel U-Pillow. IN-AIR PAMPERING

Drink lots of water – We all know that airplanes act as a drying agent, leaching water and moisture from your skin and body. Avoid a large consumption of caffeine and alcohol, which could result in even greater dehydration. Stay hydrated by drinking lots of water! Buy a large bottle before you board (post-security, of course) and you won’t fall victim to dehydration – the requisite bathroom trips are worth it {trust us}!

Dry Shampoo – To combat oily or limp hair that routinely is the result of a long international flight spent with your head pressed against a polyester headrest. Try Bumble&Bumble hair powder.

Make-Up Remover – If you were able to get some shut-eye in the air, chances are you’ve awoken to find your mascara and eyeliner smudged and smeared across your face emulating a batman mask. Use skyn Iceland’s Glacial Cleansing Cloths to combat blotched make-up. With a non-drying formula, they’re ideal for your in-flight needs.

Visine – No one wants to walk off the plane looking like a vampire with red, bloodshot eyes, just another consequence of parched air. A couple of drops of Visine should help you get your eyes back to human-like whiteness and alleviate any of the itching or discomfort that can result from the arid cabin conditions.

Skin & Bones is only one product, but it does everything except fold your laundry. Moisturize your face and body, deal with wrinkles, heal cuticles, everything. Hard to believe, but true.

S&B's organic essential oil is made of the best smelling things - jojoba, ylang ylang, rosewood, lemon, frankincense, myrrh, sandalwood, jasmine, grapefruit and cedarwood. So not only does it actually work for just about everything, but it smells amazing and could literally pass for a unisex cologne. It's even safe to use on your kids and pets.
